We envision a community that has achieved climate justice so all people in the Pajaro Valley can live in harmony with the natural world. As the climate changes, we help our community adapt and flourish. We advocate for a fair economy, plan for a healthy ecosystem & guide our community to a sustainable way of life!
The Romero Institute’s Green Power project supports communities of faith on the Central Coast in setting up Green Power Teams to create sustainable church infrastructure by identifying and reducing the carbon footprint of their respective churches and communities.
We are a diverse group of local people who are highly concerned about current and future climate change. We are affiliated with various groups such as 350 Santa Cruz, Santa Cruz Citizens Climate Lobby, System Change not Climate Change, PDC, WILPF, Sierra Club, Pachamama South Bay Group, RCNV, Fossil Free UCSC, UC-AFT Green Caucus and others.
The Sierra Club mission is “To explore, enjoy and protect the planet. To practice and promote the responsible use of the earth’s ecosystems and resources; to educate and enlist humanity to protect and restore the quality of the natural and human environment; and to use all lawful means to carry out those objectives.” Our SC group offers opportunities for local involvement, activism and outings.
