Center For Biological Diversity: Injunction Stops Border Construction in Big Bend Region

Oct 2 - Today a federal judge granted our request for an emergency injunction, stopping destructive border construction across the Big Bend region while our lawsuit moves forward. The bulldozers have been stopped. In August crews began tearing through native vegetation near Big Bend National Park’s iconic Santa Elena Canyon, plowing new routes for vehicle barriers into this extraordinary landscape. The administration waived dozens of laws to fast-track the project — including the Endangered Species Act, which is the first time it's done so inside of a national park. We went to court to stop it. And our win today is a historic step in this case that brings a critical reprieve for Big Bend. Learn MORE
