Happy Eco News: Solar Panel Recycling Could Turn a Waste Problem into an Economic Opportunity

A new global study published in the journal Nature finds that solar panel recycling could recover billions of dollars in materials and cut emissions by 2060. Solar panel recycling could turn a looming waste crisis into a global windfall, according to a sweeping new study. Researchers modeled 1,708 recycling scenarios across 32 regions worldwide. They found that recovered materials could generate nearly $1 trillion in economic benefits. Global solar installations are growing rapidly, faster than almost any other energy source today. Some researchers expect photovoltaic power, known as PV, to become the dominant electricity source by 2050. That growth means millions of aging panels will need a destination. Read ON.
