UCSC Science in the Neighborhood: Transforming Pacific salmon recovery, from genes to ecosystems, March 6, 6 pm

For millennia, Pacific salmon have been integral to the health of coastal ecosystems and human communities from California to Alaska. Salmon are ecological and cultural keystone species, connecting marine and freshwater food webs and supporting thriving fisheries. Professor Palkovacs, UCSC, will describe transformative approaches to recover wild salmon populations by connecting novel insights from the level of genes to ecosystems. Learn how this integrative research program can provide insights to transform the future for wild Pacific salmon and the ecosystems and fisheries they support. In-person and FREE.
