CalPIRG: Tell your governor to get deadly chemicals off our food

The herbicide paraquat, widely used in the U.S., is so toxic it's banned in over 70 countries. It's also linked to a significantly increased risk of developing the neurodegenerative disease, Parkinson's. It's absurd for such a dangerous substance to be sprayed anywhere near our food. But progress is possible: Vermont just passed the nation's first paraquat prohibition. Urge our governor today to follow Vermont's lead and phase out the use of paraquat here in California. Act HERE.
