Land Trust of Santa Cruz County: New Official Volunteer Program

The Land Trust of Santa Cruz County is happy to announce we now have an official volunteer program! We kicked off our first volunteer workday on August 29th at the Byrne-Milliron Forest where 13 volunteers cleared vegetation encroachment off trail, pulled and bagged invasive thistle, and worked on AJ’s view deck enhancements/restorations. We have now hosted three workdays with a total of 35 volunteers! Field Workdays like this will consist of labor-focused work like trail brushing, thread repairs, invasive plant removal, facilities enhancements, and litter clean up. We end the day with a nice cold beverage and snacks at the trail head, enjoying each other’s company. Not interested in labor? No worries! This program also offers volunteer opportunities within Outreach and Community Events. Contact Evelyn HERE.
