Many California solar owners could face higher property taxes in 2027 if state lawmakers don't act quickly. A higher property tax could be triggered if you: add a battery to your existing system, add more solar panels on your roof, or install a new rooftop solar system. Please tell your state legislators to vote YES on AB 2389, which would Stop the Solar Property Tax. For 40 years, the state Legislature has ensured that your property taxes won’t go up if you put solar on your roof or a battery in your garage.
